Terms of Service
The rules for using the usd2 self-custodial wallet, Swiss CHF and EUR funding, and the peer-to-peer deal book. Read them before you create a wallet.
Last updated: 13 August 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of usd2.org and the usd2 wallet interface (the “Service”), operated by USD2 Foundation. By creating a wallet or using any part of the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
2. Self-custody and your responsibility
The Service is a non-custodial interface. Your recovery phrase is generated in your browser and encrypted with your passkey. USD2 Foundation never holds your keys and has no ability to access, freeze, reverse, move, or restore your assets.
- You are solely responsible for keeping your device, passkey, and exported backups secure.
- Loss of your device and your backup means permanent, irreversible loss of access to your funds.
- Blockchain transactions are final. Sending to a wrong address, wrong chain, or wrong RGB invoice results in permanent loss.
- You are responsible for verifying every recipient, amount, and asset before approving a signature.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. You may not use the Service if you are resident in, or acting on behalf of a person in, a jurisdiction subject to comprehensive sanctions, or if you appear on an applicable sanctions list. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate access where required by law or by our partner banks.
4. USD₮ on the Bitcoin Network
USD₮ on Bitcoin is issued as an RGB asset settled against Bitcoin UTXOs. Holding and transferring it requires the exchange of consignment data between sender and recipient in addition to a Bitcoin transaction. If consignment data is lost or not accepted by the recipient, a transfer may fail or the asset may become unspendable.
You are responsible for the correctness of the asset contract ID configured in your wallet. Assets from an unknown or unverified contract are not USD₮ and may be worthless.
5. Buying and redeeming with CHF or EUR
Fiat funding and redemption are executed through partner banks and payment institutions in Switzerland. Identity verification and source-of-funds checks are mandatory and are performed before any mint or payout.
- Wire transfers must be sent from an account in your own name and must quote the reference code shown in your order.
- Orders are subject to quoted conversion rates and the issuance or redemption fee disclosed at the time of the order.
- Delivery timing depends on bank settlement times and Bitcoin network confirmations and is not guaranteed.
- Unmatched, non-compliant, or unverifiable wires may be returned to the sending account net of bank charges.
6. Private deals (OTC matching)
The deal book is a peer-to-peer matching venue. USD2 Foundation is not a counterparty, broker, custodian, escrow agent, or clearing house for any deal, does not guarantee settlement, and does not set prices.
- You define your own terms: side, amount, price, counterparty chain, and receive route.
- You are responsible for verifying that the receive address or invoice you publish is correct and on the intended chain.
- Cross-chain settlement legs occur on networks outside our control; a completed leg on one chain does not guarantee the other.
- Deal statuses shown in the interface are informational and may lag the underlying chains.
- Wash trading, spoofing, price manipulation, and use of the book to launder proceeds of crime are prohibited and will result in termination.
7. Fees
Applicable issuance, redemption, and network fees are shown before you confirm an action. Bitcoin miner fees and counterparty-chain fees are paid to the relevant networks, not to USD2 Foundation, and are non-refundable once broadcast.
8. No investment, tax, or legal advice
Nothing in the Service is investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Digital assets carry risk, including issuer risk, smart-contract and protocol risk, liquidity risk, and total loss. You are responsible for determining and paying any taxes arising from your activity.
9. Prohibited use
- Money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, or any unlawful activity.
- Circumventing identity verification or using another person’s identity or bank account.
- Attacking, probing, scraping, or overloading the Service or its infrastructure.
- Presenting the Service as your own or reselling access without written permission.
10. Availability and changes
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, including the deal book and fiat rails, at any time. Because the wallet is self-custodial, your assets remain accessible with your recovery phrase even if the interface is unavailable.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, USD2 Foundation is not liable for lost keys or backups, failed or misdirected transfers, counterparty default in an OTC deal, chain reorganisations, third-party bank or network outages, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss. Our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid to us in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time; your wallet remains yours. We may suspend or terminate your access to fiat rails or the deal book where required by law, by a partner bank, or following a breach of these Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Zug, Switzerland, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise. Questions: legal@usd2.org.
